Recently, a poll was taken by the general population on the percentage of people who are interested in, or are researching the prospects of a home-based business. A staggering 45 percent are eager to start and another 40 percent are seeking information on a home-based business of their choice. If the 40 percent who have looked to start a home-based business begin within the next year and the eager 45 percent join in too,  that is over half of Americans who do not have to get out of their Pajamas in the mornings. Nor do they have to rush around to get the kids off to school before work. Sound refreshing? Eighty five percent of Americans think so!

This is good news for single parents and for families with two incomes as well. Being a parent can be hard enough, but throw in the stress of a hectic schedule and the overbearing power of the eight hour workday, and you’ve got a recipe for catastrophe. Independence is a major factor in a single parents life. Being prosperous at a job and bringing home the bacon at the same time, isn’t easy these days and single parents will be the first to express that. With home-based businesses these parents are finding comfort in knowing that they have the freedom and flexibility to live their lives the way they want to.

Home-based businesses may not be for everyone. It takes a self-disciplined and highly motivated individual to succeed in these entrepreneurial ventures. One free work at home job is online product sales. Selling items from home was once a hassle. Salesmen were often forced to buy a lot of products wholesale. Then, they would try to sell the items at a profit through sites like eBay. Such sites charge fees for everything from posting to commission on the sale. If these items didn’t sell, the home business owner is stuck with a lot of unwanted product and out of all that money. Avon, for example, is online and also gives you your own website. Many customers go online looking for a local representative and the company will guide them to your site. In addition, no product has to be shipped to your own home when using online sales. Your customer can buy everything online and have it shipped straight to their place. Some companies will have an established. However, most will tell you to build your own client base.

Look for the illegitimate work at home jobs in product sales. These companies are little more than pyramid scams where you do not earn an income from sales, but from the recruiting of other salespeople. The products being sold through such companies are usually cheaply made and the markup too high to attract a customer base. Salespeople are usually stuck buying their own product or selling only to immediate friends and family. When they are tapped out, the salesperson must rely on recruiting alone.

When perusing the different types of product sales jobs available, check the merchandise. Real Work At Home Jobs for People Outside

It will lead you to just one of the real work at home jobs available for the person who works from home where you can be outside where you belong.

Do you have a green thumb and a little bit of yard? Then open your own garden center. You don’t have to have acres of land or dig up your whole yard in order to sell flowers. Various methods available will allow you to plant, sell, and repeat this process many times from the same garden plot. In the process, you will maximize your potential product output.

Pot gardening is a great way to grow flowers and small bushes. Fortunately, these pots can be used repeatedly. Start your seeds in egg cartons. Transplant them into pots or big laundry buckets after they have rooted and are between three to five inches in height, depending on the variety. Allow the plants to grow there. When a customer is interested in buying the flowers, carefully dig them up and put it into a disposable container for selling. Now you have room to put in more seedlings and allow them to grow.

A key to selling flowers with a pot gardening system is to keep a constant supply of seedlings so that you can replace what has been sold. When the season has ended, you can move all the pots into a garage or shed, or keep them in a specific location in your yard. Make sure every spring to replenish the dirt with nutrients. This can be in the form of organic compost mixed into the soil or fertilizer specifically designed for the flowers you will be planting.

Trench gardening is a more traditional way to grow flowers for selling. Trench gardening is different from pot gardening in that you won’t have to do any transplanting. Just sow the seeds directly into the soil, unless you want to start the seeds early indoors.

The number of trenches dug will depend on how much yard space you’d like to devote to your garden center. If unsure because your are new to the business, begin with six trenches approximately 10 feet long and one foot wide. Keep about three feet in between trenches. Dig all the trenches at once or do one at a time, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that you plant your seeds two or three weeks apart to ensure constantly emerging plants. For example, trench number one can grow early spring varieties like tulips and daffodils. Trench number two, which is dug and/or planted two or three weeks later can grow iris, which blooms in the early summer. Trenches numbers three through six will follow the pattern.

With each trench, you plant, put in later blooming flowers. By the time you get to the later trenches, you’ll be able to begin planting in the earlier trenches. This is how to rotate your trench garden for optimum flower production and keep the current season’s most desirable flowers for your customers.

For the outdoors type, a home garden center is a great idea for a real work at home job.
